  • TCS questions...

3 questions about what i think is called TCS (traction control support or something like that):

    1. how do i know if i have it (i have SGS, is that the same thing?, also, both of my tires spin IF i don't have great traction (but i've only got an open diff.) and a traction light comes on when i hit a big bump and lose traction or something...does this mean i have it?)and what the crap does it do?

    2. when changing gears and diff, how do i make the TCS work with the new parts?

    3. is it really that big of a deal, or can i live without it?

    thx in advance.

traction control system is different from second gear start. if you do have traction control system, you will have a separate switch that will let you disable it.
the low trac light on the instrument panel will come on any time the electronic brake and traction control module (EBTCM) senses significantly different speeds from the wheel speed sensors. like when you try to stop on ice and the car goes slip slidin' away...
you can live without it. i do.

so this is something that will be taken away if i get the diff and the gears installed...or is this something completely different than the TCS and i will still have this?

TCS is located by each end of the axle. So gears don't touch it.
