I have a question...I have a 97 with 3.08's and I'm getting a rear out of an 95 Z28 w/ limited slip, and all but its got 2.73's in there yuck! So I'm going to get 3.73's to go in there. If i get the 3.73's along with the Jet scu2000 chip.. the spedo and everything should work ok, right?

    Thanks,

No it's not going to work. That posi in there will be 2 series just like the differential you have now. Either get a 3.73 rear end or get 3.73 gears and a 3 series posi like Torsen. There is no point in buying a rear end and then changing the gears.

You need to buy 3.73 gears and a torsen from SLP. Install it in either one of your rear ends. If the other rear end has disk breaks and you want them then put the gears in that one. Otherwise I would just put the gears in your current rear end. It's a pain taking those drum brakes aparts and together.

alright...cool thanks for the info. You wouldn't happen to have the part #'s would you? And yeah I want the Z28 rear because of the rear disk breaks.

                Thanks,

The Zexel-Torsen is designed for Series 3 carriers, if I recall correctly. Both the rears she has are Series 2, so it wouldn't work.

They do offer "thick cut" gears for 2 series carriers up to 4.10 ratio. I don't know of anyone using them though. Torsen is not that expensive; $100 from SLP.
