Well it is exactly as the thread says, I think my clutch is going. I took it to the local NAPA Car Care today and the dude there took it once around the shop after I told him to listen to a noise (the noise sounds like some type of belt is squeeking like crazy when I let it idol) and says well your throw out bearing is going bad. It needs to be replace. I go in and get a quote and they say 600 bucks and I say F that I am getting another opinion.
Anyone got any suggestions. The people at NAPA just scared me and I hope nothing is wrong.
If your clutch is slightly engaged and you hear a noise its your throwout bearing, if your clutch is fully engaged then you hear a noise its your pilot bearing.
well if it's the throwout bearing and he was planning on replacing the throwout bearing, clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bearing and $600 was the total that's about right all those parts together are gonna run you something like 300 or so if memory serves me right.
auctually just looked at napa's site their "hi performance" clutch kit (which usually includes everthing mentioned above) is $614. Personally I'd just go buy a SPEC and be done with it.
About that throwout bearing you might be able to drive it 2 more years like that, might not.
