  • Shift points?

I posted this in general tech but didnt get much of a response and i know this doesnt belong in thr lounge but there is usually more people here so please someone help......
I have a 96 auto 3.8... 3.08 gears if it matters. I have complete exhaust and intake and most of igntion done so i dont know if that would make this off or not and i dont even know if it is off. When going from stop to wide open throttle my 1st-2nd shift is right at 5900-6000. More towards 6 i think. Is this right or is it shifting too high?

My 3.4L does that. Just once you see about 5-5500, drop the gas then hit it again. That causes mine to shift....5900-6000 is a little out of your powerband. It won't hurt it, but max of 5500 is what I would run it to.

Wouldnt it hurt me at the track to let off it and then hit it again? I was thinking my car should shift more at 5600 or so. I just dont want to mess the motor up... The last one slung a rod at around 5000.

Mine shifts right at 5900. To me, it feels like it hits the fuel cut off, because it pauses for like half a second and then shifts.

When i get my gears and LSD i will have to get teas speed to tune it so i might get it to shift by 5600-5700 i dont like shifting at 6000.

Sounds like you posted it in the wrong forum twice...
