  • 3.4 Trans same as 3.8?

    Quick question. Is the 3.4 and 3.8 manual transmissions the same? Are they interchangeable?

    The transmissions themself are interchangable but the bellhousings are not.

      I cant remember are the bellhousings removable on these tranny's?

          yes the bellhousings can be taken out. the reason bieng why the you would need a different bellhousing is because of the bolt pattern
          as the 3.4 is a 60 degree where as the 3.8 is a 90 degree engine respectively
          I will take on all comers...or come on all takers!!! Whichever you prefer.

            The input shaft on the 3.4 T5s are different than the 3.8s, so you'll have to replace that as well.
