How the hell do you get the snap ring back onto the servo cover? I tried for almost 3 hrs to get that damn ring on but no luck. I've come to the conculsion that snap rings are the devil. Any advice on this??? I really can't afford to have my car towed to the shop for one stinkin ring. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crow bar, and use the trans tunnel as leverage.
Or there is a very specific tool for this. It's basically a long bar. One end attaches right above the servo so you use the torque on this long bar to push the serve in to get the snap ring in there. I did mine a few times with the trans out of the car. It's like changing plugs or a short belt. At first it's impossible the it gets easy.

lol! Just had to do that about a week ago.. Pain in the ***, you have to push in HARD to where it goes in enough to get the ring on. I mean HARD as ****, you should have red rings on your hand from the cover. After it's popped in, keep pressure applied, and use your other hand to start one part of the retaining ring (Screwdriver helps, but can be done easily without), the rest should just push in. The key is ****loads of pressure, it hurts, but once you are pushing hard enough it will take 1-2 minutes at the most to get it.94 Firebird 3.4 - RIP
97 Firebird 3.8 - In the works

Took me an hour at least. I used a screwdriver to get leverage on the trans tunnel....you may think you have it is far as it will go in.....but that is the blue seal in the snap ring groove. Keep pushing and then you can start putting the POS snap ring into place.98 Bright Red Camaro
Too many mods to list....check my website

ya I figured it out, the cover wasn't in far enough. once i got it in far enough it became much easier. the bad news is something isn't right with the transmission now.
