That shift kit can harm your transmission...all it does is increase the line pressure. Search a little and there should be others who said the same thing. A shift kit really won't give you any more go anyway.

so shift kits can harm my transmission??? heh that is funny because they advertise that they make your trasnmission run longer since they keep it cooler or something....
i just figured it might give me a little more umfff, and ive always wanted my tires to chirp between 1st and 2nd...plus I heard they were more fun to drive with

The B&M Shift Plus is just a electronic "shift kit"...not the real thing. It only requires splicing into two wires at the PCM...because it only increases the line pressure and nothing else. Shift kits are fun though....my car got a little sideways on me the other day when under WOT between 1st and 2nd....the tires chirped but also lost traction and fishtailed about 3 feet to the left...It was dry road and that was the first time that had happened....but it was great.

A TransGo shift kit (even in the mildest stages) is a good way to firm up any auto tranny and I heartily reccomend them along with a corvette or billet servo as "basic mods." You can go all out on your tranny (kevlar bands, new reaction shell, tough planets, etc), but unless you drag all the time you don't really need to tear your tranny apart for it (if you need a rebuild, make it as tough as you can, though).
