whats that whistle?

Im new to the whole car, camaro deal, so i dont really know anything. I have a 95 3.4 with duel exaust and k and n filter... when i accelerate i hear a high pitched whistle coming from my car, any ideas on what that is?

hey i have the same kind of noise, actually i like it. It sounds almost like a turbo spooling up, if u want ti louder than run it with out the filter, it will be a nice hissing sound.

My 95 Camaro does that too, just like a turbo. Is it supposed to do that? I don't know, but I like it ;)

My cousin's truck also does that. It is from the K&N FIPK. When you give it some gas it sucks in air through the filter and makes it sqeaul (sp).

well if you take off the filter, you will get a louder hissing sound, and if you take off the whole intake just runing with the throttlebodie it will sound like a major blow off valve, and it will sound reall deep. i woulndt recomend running it for to long.

well I have a 3.8 and I have the whistle sound DISTINCTLY coming from the rear and ONLY at 1,400RPMs (WTF?!?!?!?) OH btw, this will happen only when the car is in Drive (automatic) and it will happen in any gear (1,2,3, or 4)

mine has a faint whine from the engine when i rev it up [img]smile.gif[/img] Sounds like a supercharger [img]smile.gif[/img] its sweet. i went to my friends shop and i was in reverse, moving back alittle and i give it a good amount of gas and lot of clutch and he goes, "Is that a turbo?!" i was like no lol thats the engine sound [img]smile.gif[/img] Nice huh? [img]tongue.gif[/img]
