  • Which puts more to the ground?

K will me and my brother in-law were fighting because he said that autos put more power/tq to the ground then a stick shift.I said that atuo have more drivetrain lost then stick like 18-20% when stick shifts have about 15% drivetrain lost. So who is right does a auto put down more then a stick shift?
I have a Chevy you have a honda what the difference your always tring to catch up

you are right, sticks put more power to the ground, but an auto that has been modded w/ a torque converter, shift kit, and removed torque managment will be quicker than a modded stick anyday, as long as the rest of the car is exactly alike.

No, an auto will always put slightly less power down than a manual. But the auto has the capability to shift faster than pretty much anyone driving a stick.

If all you do is drive straight then auto is good. If you acutlly race your car trhough turns then you want the manual.
