stock clutch and burnouts lol

the last couple times i tried to do some big burnouts, as soon as i would let into it the tires wouldnt spin and the clutch would just slip.

but if i rev it and dump it, it will lay a nice strip.

i dont experience any other slippage at all any other time. theres 45k on it now. does this happen to anyone else? i just seen kristens video and she was tearing it up, then i look at here car domain and it says shes waiting for here spec 3 install so im assuming thats all on the stock clutch.

That hard dump is very dangerous to your drivetrain components. If done too many times, you risk the following repairs:
Driveshaft u-joints, trans mount, (more) pinion leakage, gear damage, etc.
I've actually twisted my rear pumpkin from the axle shafts once from what I called a Whole-Shot (dropping the clutch at a high rpm). I had to replace the whole rear unit.
I don't know if you do them frequently or not, but just be advised that too many can reak havok on your stuff.

no its not something i do often. i know it can reak havoc. but you know how it is, if theres bunch of ricers around and you just wanna show them whats up, or car shows sometimes.

I have 31k on my car, with minimal mods and sporty driving my clutch was slipping occasionally. I just installed a Spec II (2) and I really enjoy it - smoother easier driving, very grippy, no chatter.

i really want to get a spec clutch but the car is my daily. how long did it take you to get you flywheel resurfaced?

spec 2 clutch is very very streetable, low chatter, easy engagement through gears and no slippage. Having someone resurface your flywheel it should be back to you in a few hours no big deal.
I have a spec 2 and i have no issues with it.

Because the stock clutch put a glazing on it. The glaze can-and-will be transferred to the new clutch disk, and you take a chance on it slipping again. You should always install a new clutch on a resurfaced flywheel. ;)

You can install the old clutch plate on a fresh flywheel as long as you de-glaze it if possible. It is good to start with 100 grit or a purple scotch brite pad but it is key to get it even or it will feel funny and that could cause heat spots on the flywheel you had turned. Always better to replace components when you can.
