Trans Go makes the best for our application. Around $125. http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=57
Part # 26-4L60E is what you need. $225 install where I live. This is one install I'll leave to the pro's after reading the instructions. I havent gotten mine in yet, but according to the inst. you can choose 3 levels of shift firmness, and have full control over gear changes. I.E. You shift first to second, the tranny does it immediately. The same control for downshifts too, all the gears will be this way. I dunno about 4th though.Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

I'm no pro and did mine with a buddy in about 4 hours. If you're half way decent with tools, careful, and can read directions you'll be fine. I'd say the hardest part is popping out the servo on the side with the trans still up in the tunnel. You can get the trans just low enough to make that task go from impossible to a huge pain in the ***.

which one did you get, the link posted above, or the other B&M ones. the trans go allows us to manually control our shifts, meaning it will not shift unless we physically shift it like a manual, or what. can someone please explain this to me. Jessica let us know how it turns out, when is the install?

I can't get the install done until next week.
This is what trans go says about their kit:
Pro-Street or race with "class". Manually hold 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to any RPM. Manually downshift to any gear at any speed. Increases TCC apply/feel and improves holding power. Stops engagement delay/bang, reduces 3-4 clutch failure.
NOTE: Computer strategy change may be required before kit installation on 98 and later vehicles.
This is the kit I have ;)Jessica :)
Kansas: There\'s no place like home...99 Firebird Blown/6lbs, Eaton w/3.42\'s CI headers Z28 Exaust
CAI, #36 injectors Intense PCM

yo not to be the negative guy..nothing brings more happiness knowing you did a mod to your car yourself without help by a mechanic let alone the labor rate they charge..but i let the mechanic do my B&M shift kit due to the fact the tranny is a sensitive and critical part of the car. i didnt want to start removing springs and stuff and lose parts through it ..i paid 20 bucks cuz i no the guy ..but the price they gave you sounds pretty reasonable.BY THE WAY BUY THE TRANS GO ..B&M wasnt the best.. but i didnt know aboutthe transgo at that point.to all the ricers...the mountain dew bottle in my hand has more liters then ur car.
\"My baby is built with tools..not chopsticks\"
