I'm gonna change out the oil in my rear end in the next couple of days I know how to do it but its my first time and I"m not quite sure how much oil the whole rear end will hold. I don't want to get started and run out of oil and not be able to complete it.

I can't remember exactly but I believe (not sure) that they sell the gear oil in QT's and you will need to buy 2. (If you have an LSD you will also need LS oil also). Just fill until it starts to pour out. Hey man. Why dont you ask a nykka whoes done this? :D j/k. Email me or give me a call man, I did my rear end swap. I want to say it held about 3 bottles of that 80W90 oil. Mine has LSD, and I got the castrol with a LSD additive already in there. Works fine, what rear end etc are you going with? Good luck. ;)Jordan
15.09@90.7
1995 Camaro 3.4 M5

I actually just replaced the gear lube in my rear differential the other week. It was also my first time. The hardest part for me was getting the old gasket off. It took me about a good 15-20 minutes just to get all of the old stuff off. It didn't look like it was ever changed before though, so maybe next time it'll be easier. But as far as the amount of gear oil you need, just 2qts. will fill her up. Good luck man, and be sure to take your time!2000 Monterey Maroon Chevrolet Camaro
3.8L V-6/4spd Auto

That's strange....I changed mine about 10K ago, and it didn't even have a gasket on it! But it does now, along with 2 quarts of Lucas gear oil and some LSD additive........2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic

\"Yes, London.
