• Question about diff in a 2.73 rear Z-28

Hey guys I have been really starting to hate the open diff in my car and was wondering about the Z-28s that have the G80 option and 2.73s. Would there LSD diff work on my car with the 3.08s? I mean I know that they are both series-2 carriers I'm just wondering about the axle splines. Doesn't the '89-92 3rd gen and all of the 4th gens have 28-spline? And the '82-'88s have 26 spline? So as long as I got the diff from lets say a 4th gen Z28 with 2.73s I should be able to use the rear right? I just wanted to maybe find this and still run my 3.08s for the time being. I do a LOT of driving and want to try and get every little MPG I can right now. After I get past all this driving I'll get the 3.42s.

You might have a little more luck with this question over at the Camaroz28 board in the 3rd Gen section. Do some searching for information on their axle setups and compare it to our info.
