Ok, this is the second time this has happend, the other time was about a month ago, in the same place. .... OK, so im crusing along at 70 miles per hour for about 80 miles, i exit the freeway, stop at a light, and them at each shift of the transmission, it feels as if someones running into the back of me, its like this the rest of the way home "about 3 miles", i get home run in get my scanner and it tells me: P1870 which is transmission component slipping. I turn the car off, walk inside, come right back out start up the car and drove it around the block, and now all is fine. Whats going on, any help will help.... i know nonthing about transmissions, any one else had this problem, what is it. even if you have an idea let me know, thanks bobby

its a pretty common problem. search the forum and you will see plenty of people that have had this problem.

I myself just did. I'd recommend you get it fixed right away. the longer you wait the more damage it will cause. has something to do with the ****ty valve body GM used... either way its what usually gets replaced. costed me $500, had them put in a shift kit and corvette servo for an extra $120(parts)

Mines doing the same thing, only it's ALWAYS shifting harsh from 1st to 2nd, and even harsher when I finally got the SES P1870 code... Should I get the fluid/filter changed? or replace the valve body?...

dont think changing the fluid will make much if any diffrence. Ive always kept mine fresh, what a wast of my time, thinking it would extend the life of it, and save me money in the long run....in my dreams. How many miles do you have on it, i have 92k
