Anybody got a part number and cost, and anybody know if they will work on a 99 automatic, or will they work on both auto and manual? Thanks

I could handle that. Was it in good condition, i.e., was it dented, not straight, anything else? I know some places sell "as-is" parts, and others sell fully functional parts. Thanks. Nevermind, I'm stoopid, I read your post, and then responded with this. Duh. Thanks man.

night rider, did u notice a difference in performance with it?
i know it will make some difference in power response but is it really worth the ~$200 price tag?

I have a 98 Z28 and it has the aluminum driveshaft. Did GM switch to a steel one some time after that?? Is there any difierence in the 1LE one then mine?? Questions we all want to know. In 99 aluminum became standard on all V8s.

You might notice a slight increase, especially since you M5 guys have a 2-piece steel shaft (i think). I had a 1-piece steel, so i didn't feel a significant increase but i really wanted to reduce unsprung weight.
