I could handle that. Was it in good condition, i.e., was it dented, not straight, anything else? I know some places sell "as-is" parts, and others sell fully functional parts. Thanks. Nevermind, I'm stoopid, I read your post, and then responded with this. Duh. Thanks man.

night rider, did u notice a difference in performance with it?
i know it will make some difference in power response but is it really worth the ~$200 price tag?
if its worth it i may just get one and throw it on when i replace my clutch

I have a 98 Z28 and it has the aluminum driveshaft. Did GM switch to a steel one some time after that?? Is there any difierence in the 1LE one then mine?? Questions we all want to know. I will see what I can find out.

98 Firebird - gone from mod mode to keep it running and useable mode.

In 99 aluminum became standard on all V8s.

You might notice a slight increase, especially since you M5 guys have a 2-piece steel shaft (i think). I had a 1-piece steel, so i didn't feel a significant increase but i really wanted to reduce unsprung weight. So i'd say it's an o.k. modd.
