My shifting was fine
I went from 3.23 to 3.73 and at 70mph I was really doing 60, so if you need to be on the highway just cruise at 70 or 80 and you'll be safe Around town you can just go with traffic... I did end up buying the speedo recalibrator from intense racing. Works great, the instructions weren't for our cars though, had to do the install on my own.
I was wanting to make sure that the tranny being a 4l60E wouldnt get all screwy, how bad was your tach off? did the car shift early like at 5800 or 5700?

I lied, 2 things did change about my shifting.
If i drop the shifter down into 2nd it will run to 6k rpm, it used to shift at 5500 rpm no matter what. It won't run to 6k rpm in 1st gear though... unless the tach just doesn't move fast enough. So I guess this is a benefit, being able to run to redline.
The other thing is that my car shifts early in 3rd, at about 5200rpm, but it always shifted early in 3rd. It just shifts like 100-150rpm sooner now. If I drop the shifter to 3rd it will run higher though, I shift out of 3rd at like 5400rpm though because it stops pulling.
Over all I like the way my car shifts now. I don't like it going to 6k rpm in 2nd because it stops pulling at around 5400, so the only time I have to do anything is if I want to run 3rd gear to 100mph which is only when I'm racing.
Ok, yea i was hoping anyway my car would shift sooner since the power band is over a little after 5000 rpm's.And you also went to 3.73's, im going to 3.42's!

hehe, gears are awesome
The only thing I don't like is that the speed limits are about 50 or 55 around here on most streets and with the 3.73s my sweet spot is 40 or 45 :( With the 3.23s it was 50-55 so if I raced from a roll i'd be right in my power band. now I have to slow down to get in my power band... or just go like 70mph
I don't think you'll have a problem with your shifting though, I don't really consider the changes in my shifting a "problem". Really the only thing that is different is that the car goes to 6k rpm when I have it dropped down in 2nd. Everything else is basically the same...
mine (3.08's to 3.42's) w/o being calibrated actually shifts better. feels firmer, little lower rpms, but like said above in power band when it shifts instead of falling and then shifting.
