Basicly after alot of slipping, my A4 fried... I have to get it rebiult before I'm on the road again. The cost for the biuld was quoted $1,800. Can I just do a A4 to M5 conversion for the same price?! Is this recomended? I would LOVE a 5 Speed but how much more or less am I looking at? Also are there any cheaper places I can get a rebiuld incase I keep my A4?

I would get a quote and see if you bought the parts and brought them the tranny how much they would charge you then.
you can get the parts online, and dropped the tranny isn't that tough, its just putting the sum***** back in there that is a little tougher. I don't know if you can take the tranny out or not, but at least ask them if you brought the parts how much cheaper it would be. Mine was about $1100 to rebuild, including some new hard parts, all synthetic fluid and all.
If you don't want to keep the auto though, there is no point in rebuilding it. I don't know the price though.. you'll have to wait for others who have done the swap.Sinister Six©
My \'95 Bird
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

It'll push the tranny back an inch. You'll have the modify the cross member. I forget all the specifics... I could not afford to do it when I was investigating it. Let me see if I can dig up something better for you. I think I still have a spec sheet one of the members (who did it), on this board, sent me.Patrick
Sick Sixx Member
97 Mystic Teal Camaro
425RWHP @14PSI
Old setup:
330RWHP @7PSI 13.9 @ 106.6 Mods
