in 5th gear @ 75mph you will be at 2350rpm with 3.42's or 2600rpm with 3.73's.
that is not any problem for your car, stock or modded. you will still get good mileage on or off teh highway(around town your mileage will vary depoending how much you play with your new found launching power )

As far as value, I would say to do the gear changes last in your line of mods. I went from 3.23's to 3.73's, and noticed anywhere between .1 and .4 difference in the quarter mile. You can get gains like that if you just buy drag radials and don't switch gears.
For the hundreds of dollars I spent on the gears and the headache of the speedo recalibrators not working or not working properly, I would rather have bought an intercooler. All gone :(<br />Best ET ever: 14.3 (I think)<br />----------------------------<br />Check out my site for exhaust clips, burnouts, and pictures, and the supercharger throttle body mod.<br /><a href=\"http://www.geocities.com/net_addict/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Click on the Firebird</a>
