Either way its raining so no go on anything. I really wanted to do my tranny fluid.

Well, since you made that perfectly clear, let's move on to the next possibility.

when i release the bleeder, the fluid never stops flowing, it just keeps on dripping down
It's very possible you have a leak in your master cylinder or the actuator cylinder is faulty.
</font>
hey, i appreciate all the help i can get on this. but lets just say i was a bit offended at the statement you made there because, honestly you must think i'm an idiot for you to be making an assumption like that about me. this isn't the first time me or my dad have turned a wrench.

but either way, thanks for your help.

marc, that $24 for a flush and fill, was that including fluid?

if not, what kind of fluid did you use, redline or anything hi-performance like that?

My appologies. I was not trying to offend. Your post wasn't very clear and was difficult to understand so I was just trying to clarify so that I could assist you in any way possible.

Good luck on your project.

You're closing the bleed screw? Where is the fluid dripping from? If the pedal won't return from the floor it sounds like it isn't operating the slave cyl at all. Maybe you got a bad piston seal in the slave?

everything's on the up and up. the pedal is back like before only the fluid its pushing is about 1000x cleaner now. i just got discouraged at the beginning when after pumping for so long we weren't getting any results. but after keeping at it for what seems like an eternity, the pedal got stronger and stronger.

as for the bad news, it seems like flushing the system didn't do anything for my original problem of having trouble shifting (esp. into 1st from a stop). :( hokeyman suggested flushing the tranny fluid itself and i did that about a year ago. it helped for a few months, but the problem just came back just as bad. i put about $20 worth of ATF in the tranny last time i flushed it and it was supposed to be the "good" stuff too. so i'm kindof reluctent to toss another $20 at the problem that i already figure won't help much.

well it did take me about 1 hour to do the clutch..... and if you used that much fluid you was leving the bleed scerw open to long, after it push out your good close it up.

the tranny sounds like a syncro is going out

I jsut finished doing this.

Took me about 40 minutes.

tips,
-bleeder screw works with a tight fit with a 11mm wrench
-Bleeder screw is bigger then one on the brakes, so a line you have for your brakes WILL not work on this bleeder screw

I had no problems, my hose came off twice, I was worried I got air in the system, but everything works great, pedal is ALOT softer then before and the clutch feels to be grabbing alot harder.

Stuff that used to make my clutch slip doesn't do it now. I am hoping to go to the track and see if this solved my clutch problem.

How did you change the fluid in the tranny? Syphon? Or take it somewhere?
I took a syphon pump and stuck the hose in the tranny after draining and pulled out about another half pint or so of fluid, either way you are going to need some kind of pump to put it back in the tranny because you aren't gonna dump it straight in out of the container, there isn't enough room between the tranny and the floorpan of the car. I guess you could get a really long piece of hose stick it in the tranny and route it out from under the car but I see that getting really messy really fast. </font>
I bought a $.99 hand pump that is for 1 gallon jugs for AutoZone. Stuck a 6" hose on the end and jammed that in the tranny. Took less than 5 minutes to fill the tranny. Works great for filling the rear end too.

Only downside is that the pump wont screw onto the tranny or gear oil containers. Not a big deal as I didn't spill a drop.
