could a damaged throwout bearing cause any bigger probs?

Now, the clutch and tob are brand new.. but just recently (from what i can tell) the TOB is makeing a noise (cause it goes away soon as i touch the clutch pedal).. now i wnated to know if for instance, the TOB really starting messing up.. will the car still be driveable? (even if its screetching).. cause im reluctant to bring it into the shop, cause its a nother 3 hours of labor. . . im waiting to see if it goes away

It can screw up your clutch if it goes out.

i hate this.. i just put this clutch in last week, along with the new TOB.. and now somethings sqeaking and crap, but it goes away once i push the clutch a little..

anyone got a trans am i could buy?!

A mechanic told me my tob is dry because it would make a screetching noise when cold and i had the clutch pushed in. It doesn't seem to do it much anymore but it still does sometimes. Does anybody think it could hurt my clutch? It's been this way for a year and a half now and still drives fine.

if the throw out bearing is installed improperly it can cause those very problems and it more than likely will get worse. I have had this happen to me personally and a friends who have had their TOB's replaced when the clutch was done.

As far as it being dried out that is very likely espically if the car has sat up for an extended peroid of time. it will get worse over time damage the clutch.. naah not really but you won't be able to shift once it goes out.. I guess if you abuse it then you could have clutch problems..
