my friend bought a b&m megashifter for about a $170. he said when he installed it that it came with a shift kit........is this true cause when i read the profile for it, it says nothing about a shift kit and that would explain why its so expensive

They don't normally come with a shift kit, but it could have been a promo that the retailer had. Shift kits are pretty cheap (I paid $25 for the B&M kit for my 700R4), so it wouldn't be unlikely that the retailer did that.
