  • I want an M5 in my 93

Ok first off, I searched and didn't find the answer i wanted.

Secondly, I'm getting a new car soon, so my camaro will be a project car and playtoy. Also, i don't want a manual at the expense of trading for another camaro...i love my camaro and want to keep it.

Now for the question. How much will it cost to convert an M5 into my 93? I have a place to do it and the tools to do so, so don't factor labor into it. Plus i'm not going to be buying a heavy duty new or rebuilt street tranny, probably just a used M5 from a junkyard.

    Any ideas?

I am doing the same thing to a 98 camaro. I called TA creations and for everything they told me between 700 and 800 dollars. then you would obviously have to buy the clutch, flywheel, etc...

Just don't forget, you'll need to replace your center console too. It's a pretty big job, so take your time and walk away when you get mad. Too many times I ruined things because I got pissed and HAD to finish the job at that moment. Then after I broke, stripped, rounded off, and threw the parts, it took an additional amount of days trying to fix it.

I swapped my old 1976 Trans Am from an M5 to an auto because I was tired of replacing clutches ever two years or so.

You are going to sink more money into converting your car to a M5 then the total value of the car. Sometimes you have to realize a lost investment and get out.

Did you not read my original post? It has nothing to do with money, i'm buying a new car regardless. I'm just not parting with my camaro.
