  • Torque Management for Trans Go Shift kit

I was looking at site for Trans GO shift kit and theres this FAQ about torque management.. guess it means when have shift kit and computer notices that tires are spinning faster than they should be it resets computer to factory settings.. is this for every car? and is there ways around it other than having to buy a $420 programmer?

I thought that was a good question and remember someone asking about this before. When transgo mentioned that it was for mostly 98 and newer vehicles I asked Magnus over at http://www.hptuners.com/ if his software would eliminate or give the capability to adjust the torque management settings and his reply was yes.
I dont know any other ways around this other than a PCM change.

I don't see anything in the question/answer regarding torque management saying the computer gets reset to factory settings. It says it momentarily retards timing. Then it goes back to normal operation. I don't interpert the "normal operation" comment to mean the computer resets to factory settings. I interpert it to mean it just goes back to normal timing.

So then what does that mean? will it still give me the firm shifts and be faster? i have heard someone tell me to disconnect battery while installing it then after installed shift kit hook battery back up but i dunno if that would work. also i have heard that it'll work without having TCS on.
