Does any company(s) make an aftermarket flywheels for the 3800?

I am still hoping someone if forget the argument at hand and let me know if the bolt pattern (crank to flywheel) for the 3800s is the same as the 3.4Ls.

Actually, SLP makes a nice steel flywheel for LS1's, but not the V-6 cars. I dont know if anyone has tried to convert an LS1 flywheel to V-6. I think I remember a while back that the early 3rd gens shared the same bellhousing from the 6cyl and v8's. You might see if Hayes or another similar company makes flywheels for 3rd gens and see if the bolt pattern is the same. Hell, if you can find a v-8 5-speed car in a junk yard, you can compare bolt patterns and go from there. Other than that, it might need to be a custom piece if you are set on steel.

Hey, I am always up for a good argument also. That's how things happen and ideas are born. Anyways, the diameter on those V8 flywheels is too large on the early 3rd gen stuff. It won't fit into a 60* bellhousing. The diameter of the 3800 flywheels is right but that would have to come down to the bolt pattern on the crank and the number of teeth on the ring gear.

I am pretty sure its the same one.. it had spec all over it, go back to the thread and look at the pic's

With steel or iron you'll never have to worry about it shattering, either.

But dammit, now I'm confused and can't seem to find any legit info. Is the stock 3.8 flywheel steel or iron? I always just thought it was steel but now that I think about it I'm not certain...
