Is around $550 a good price for a used Z28 rear-end and 1 peice Alum. Driveshaft??
To make things easier during the install could i remove the rear end and slide driveshaft out of the transmission keeping the driveshaft attached to the rear end to be removed later???

Well you can get rear ends for like 300 bucks and aluminum driveshafts for around 150 if you look around. So I think 550 might be a little to much unless that is shipping included. It cost around 100 to ship my rear end when I bought one

You could, but you're gonne be under there anyway removing the torque arm, so might as well take the d/s bolts off. You may want to save your old d/s just incase of an emergency, and removing it while pulling the rear out will put a nice ding on the end when it hits the floor.
$550 is for a used rear and an aluminum driveshaft is about average. The alum d/s are going for about $150 on ebay, and $400 for the rear is a decent buy, especially if it doesn't need to be shipped. Shipping is expensive for the rear!
