  • Y87 performance package?

    i bought my car used so im not exactly sure about anything. but anyways, i thought i had the Y87 package cause i burn both tires off the line and when doing burn outs. but then i found out that u r suppose to have dual exhaust which i didnt have stock. some one please help. i dont like not knowing whats is going on with my car. :( :(

    i think those are different not sure,

    but do you have disk brakes or drum?

    LSD plus disk for 97 and under is = Y87

      Or the previous owner put the rear end on the car so that it has 3.42s and lsd. Check your codes on your door for the y87 code.

        o' plus, its a 2000, and i have all 4 disc brakes

        and the info i have read said that to have Y87, u r suppsoe to have sld which i think i have, 3.42 gears which im going to have checked today and dual exhaust which i dont. please help

          Just look at the codes on the inside doorjam where the white sticker is.

            Some 2000's didn't come with the Y87 Performance Package. However, they did get the 3.42 gears. Open your driver's door and look for codes GU6 and G80. Mine came from the factory with 3.42's and a single turndown muffler.

              alright, its says gu6 and g80 and what do they mean. but then y do i burn both tires all the time. i have never burned just one.

                  GU6 is 3.42's and G80 is LSD. I think that would make it Y87, but even if it's not, since you've got those and 98+ cars came w/rear discs you've got everything you'd want anyway.

                      So what, stock exhausts are cheesy anyway. Not worth paying for a factory upgrade either.
