I installed a set of 3.73's and now my cruise control no longer works. Any ideas as to why it does not work?
Everything is hooked back up. No ABS, low trac, or SES lights are on. My speedo is off, and the only thing I can think of is b/c the throttle is electrically controlled that the pcm reads the speed and rpm mismatch thus cruise does not activate.

Hmmm... The speed should be calculated from the rpm. So basically the tach and the speedometer are recieveing the same information, and just display it differently. Cruise control shouldn't be affected because if the speedo is off, it will think that it is being set at whatever speed the speedo shows, and it will try to maintain that speed. I'm not saying the rear gear change didn't cause the problem, just that the speed the computer is reading should not affect the speed you set the cruise at.
I know why my cruise control doesnt work- the speedo recalibrator.
See, I had to drive for about a month without it, and my speedo was way off, but the cruise control worked. Then, when I put in the Jet Scu2000, no more cruise control.
I think it may be because the unit doesnt update the speedo fast enough.
I'm reading wiring diagrams to see if I can bypass the recalibrator just for the cruise control.

I have 3.73 gears and I don't have a speedo calibrator and cruise control doesn't work at all either. No idea why. Hasn't worked since the new gears were put in.
same here, but it kicked itself back on. i am wondering if the hpp3 made it work. i know it is working now, but i do remember it not working when the 3.73s whent in. at first i didnt think much about it - i only had the gears a week with out the HPP3 (and i distinctly remember it not working), but now i use cruise control all the time.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.
ok i just brought this up cause i was very curious about it after the swap. i know for a fact my cruise control worked after i used the HPP3. i used my cruise control all the time. now i swapped in the LS1 and once again used an HPP3 but now my cruise control doesnt work. it worked before the swap but does not work now.

Yes, but if it's disconnected your speedo would read 0 ;)
hummm....you know I never tried mine. I have a 99 camaro. Just put 3.73's in her. They dont make a HPP for the 99. I did however swap out my PCM for a newer year so that I could use the HPP. I have been testing and tweaking things on the car for about a week now...Let me check in abit and I will let you all know if mine works or not.
