  • Drive shaft length??

    Looking for some info.
I did a serch and found two diffrence answers.
I have a 1997 firebird V6 3.8.I need to know what car years drive shaft will fit?
I have serched and some say only 93~02 will fit.And some say 82~up will fit.
Befor i go looking around i like to know what to ask for.
So will a Gen 3(82~92) fit?
Also what is the length from center of U-joint to center U-joint.Is it 42"?

I know newer is always better but scrap yards here wants $300.00 CDN for a 94 one piece shaft.

Any DS 82-02 will fit a 4th gen. I believe the length should be 41-3/4" or something close to that. You can get a used shaft off ebay or try the CamaroZ28 For Sale forums. The price should be around $150 or less.

i just bought a 1pc aluminum driveshaft from a member of this board for 150$. i believe i heard an 82+ will work, but not sure. i wouldn't go with one of those though. i'd try to get a 1pc aluminum.
