  • slamming

    whenever there is a load on the rear end i hear this slam and its big, only happens when i give it a lot of gas but it dosnt when i take it easy. whan can it be?

    broken tranny mount is my gues
    i had the same thing. id stop and hit the gas, and hte tranny would slam the floorboard hard

      Yup, sounds like it may be a tranny mount problem. I had 2 f-bodies that had the same symptoms and it was the tranny mount both times.

          also what caused the problem is i was reving it and my stupid friend put it in gear..i had it at like 5 grand and ever since it slams..still tranny mount?

            yea, revvin it at 5k and then throwing it in gear isnt good (neutral bomb city)
            yea, still tranny mount, mine cost i think...about 20-30 bucks or somethin- just standard replacement

                well, my uncles a mechanic, and i think he just went to wilcox auto parts (im not sure if this chain pertains to just cincy or not).
                if you dont have one near ya, i think you could special order it from advance or autozone.
                just tell them what your lookin for and theyll get you a new one.
                no real certain size that i know of..itll prob just be a stock replacement

                  You could get a 1LE tranny mount also.
