Currently i have 98 A4 bird with 3.08 and an open differential. I am getting the procharger kit, so i want to upgrade my gears.
I am getting 3.73 and the zexel-torsen LSD. I need to know if i need to buy the install kit from SLP as well, or if i can just use what i have on there now. I am strapped for cash right now, so I would like to be able to use what i currently have.
You are going to need an install kit since you are installing gears. I wouldn't recommend reusing the old stuff unless you would like to do it all over again in a short while. Better to do it right the first time and not have to worry about it.
Good point, but I thought someone said before that you only needed one $20 item in that kit, and not the whole $119 kit? Is this something my mechanic might have?
the difference is one is just a few new parts that you will need to install w/new gears, and the 120 dollar thing has got to be like a complete rear end restoration i think

try westcoast differentials, or Randy's ring and pinion, they also woruld have those parts, I would buy precision Gear, I don't know who makes slp's gears, they could be cheap!!!!
