soooo

i just spent at least 2 hours attemping to install the driveshaft i just bought. cross brace came off fine. the 4 bolts holding the end of the driveshaft came off with ease. THE BOLT ON THE TORQUE ARM. HOLY JESUS. i didn't get that off. i went out and bought some pb blaster or whatever. sprayed it all over it. still didn't come off. and that bolt at the top of the driveshaft. i didn't even attempt. there wasn't even enough room to move my ratchet, let alone enough force to unpry it from its stuck position.

sooo, it looks like i'm taking it to my shop on monday for it to get installed. this sucks

yeah.. i did mine in like 20 mins..
Umm.. dont f with the torque arm..
there is no reason to take that off..

just unbolt the tunnle brace.. unbolt the shaft.. slip it out, and slip the new one in..

my car came with a 1p steel.. so i dont know if that makes a difference..

good luck,
Billy

The two pc is very difficult to remove w/o removing the torque arm as well.

You can remove the torque arm and the DS together. I had to do it this way.

After unbolting the two big bolts on the Differential remove the torque arm from its bushing thing up front. Now you can change the angle of the whole drivetrain (making it easier to remove DS) by jacking up(or down) the differential/axles until you can remove it(the torque arm) from the diff housing. Now unbolt the u joint then slide the DS out of the Tranny (you might have to play with the angle of the whole thing to get it out(be careful still use your jackstand).

I feel your pain, the top bolt for the center support bearing on the torque arm was such a pain. It is truly an exercise in patience. It took me about an hour to get that top bolt out without removing the torque arm.

Good luck.

It is a slightly tight fit, but no need to remove the torque arm. All you need is a buddy to help you and a little elbow grease. Like I said, bring it on up and I'll help you put it on .
