• jet scu2000 setting off service engine soon light!

I put the jet scu2000 unit on my car. after i drive the car a little, the ses light turns on. here are the settings i am running on the unit:
stock tire size: 3 (for 235/55/16)
stock gear ratio: 3 (for 3.08)
modified tire size: 2 (for 275/35/18)
modified gear ratio: 5 (for 3.42)
if i unplug the unit, the ses light eventually goes off. i have tried upping the modified tire size by one, but it didnt help. any other suggestions?

Yo man how does the scu2000 plug into the car? Does it plug into the computer like a PCM or do you connect it and take the unit off after it reprogrammes the computer?

dekay, the unit has 3 wires. one goes into the fusebox for power, one is to ground it, and one plugs into the vehicle speed sensor. the vss is sort of a pita to get to. its right in the middle of the underside of the car, and hard to reach. and yeh, it has to stay hooked up for it to work.

btw, i upped the modified tire size ANOTHER one, and everything is fine.

you... need... to.... reset... the.. PCM...

The PCM will realize the speedo is not what it used to be and will throw codes..

If your changes are subtle the PCM will just relearn.. however if yoru changes are great the pcm will just throw the code.

I have one. Tried every combination imaginable. Reset my computer numerous times. Never got it to work. Kept throwing converter slippage code. Removed it.

Majestic.... i'm just sayin if your speedo is still off and you don't want to click over that one tire size because of the SES light.. its just an idea. btw.. my alias was Majestic back in the day for a few weeks.

AMinor.. let the PCM sit unplugged over night.

If your settings are drastic enough ie, you have 3.08 PCM and 3.73 gear well then you might be SOL.

I was thinking of getting one of the scu2000 to get rid of my speed limiter do you think it is worth it. i recently put 410s in my car and we have the speedometer fooled but the computer isn't will this work.

well, it worked for my 3.42's, but i dont think it would work for 4.10's.
