  • open differential ques???

My car is supposed to have a 3.08 rearend with an open diff. However I can spin both tires from a rolling stop. I thought only one would spin.

You can leave two patches if you don't apply force to the axle and it happens to just spin the right way with equal traction on both sides.

Put your foot on the brake, she'll one wheel wonder til the cows come home.

That's what I meant by laying two patches..I did a brake torque and just sat there for a few seconds, then let off the brakes and took off..

        Two patches were left behind..

maybe u were lucky 2 get a LSD in ur rear. I know they make LS1's w/ 2.73's and LSD, so 3.08's w/ LSD isn't too hard 2 comprehend.

When were 2.73's available on LS1's?

            Not in the '98 s!

If your door codes don't have G80, you don't have .

poor traction will cause to spin both tires on cars with no LSD. try it at the track and you will discover the ever sensational one-wheel wonder. :D

I have never looked to see what my car really has..but I'm pretty sure that its a 3.08 open...and for the longst time only one will our spin no matter what...then I put a new fuel pump in and the egine ran stronger than it ever did....now 2 wheels spin no matter what from a stand still flooring it...to power braking...both of them are turning over...werid...when I did my fuel pump I also had to buy new sway bar mounting screws and bummpers becuase one side fell off...dunno if that had anything to do with it or not......any one know why both my wheels are working now?
