Stupid Question

Does anyone know who makes the 3.42 gears that come with the Y87 performance package? I thought it was Chevy's own brand but do they use aftermarket gears for it?

The ones that come in the package are Genuine GM Gears.

Motive is an aftermarket company.

So GM makes the gears that they put in their cars (Y87)? In other words, they don't use any aftermarket parts?

you can pretty much find everything that GM uses on the cars @ GMPartsDirect.

it's much easier for them to use their own parts instead of contracting out to other companies and having them warranty them dont you think? [img]smile.gif[/img]

GM makes all of their own performance parts. All the 1LE parts are some of the best available for the camaros. Most say they are better quality than most aftermarket parts. As for gears...I highly recommend GM gears (even used ones).
