  • Z-28 rear axle??

Guys, I need help... I went to my shop earlier today and asked about the installation. His biggest question was about the drum brakes to disc brakes. He says that the existing lines (drum) are might be noncompatible with z-28 (disc). This would result in not having enough psi to operate the calipers. Then under hard braking the car would just take a nose dive b/c the rear brakes would be inoperable. Anybody know about this **** cauz I didnt even think about it beforehand. Thanks.

I did the drum to disk swap and I have no problems with brake line compatibility, nor the braking itself. I got on them quite a few times and didn't have any major nose-dives. Of course the car will lean forward when under hard braking, but it shouldn't be too much as to cause any concern.

Same here.... stock master cylinder and no special brake proprtioning valve.

Car nosedives a little but rears are working great... car stops better then it did with drums. i have taken it autocrossing and roadracing over the last 16-17 months i have had them on. No problems that I have seen.

just makesure you bleed the hell out of the rear brakes... i had to bleed them like 5 different times... i wodul drive the rears would nto work, and took it home kept bleeding them then they work like a charm.

Someone else had similar problem as me.
