I have searched though the board and havent exactly found what i was looking for. I have 94 3.4 5 speed, the question i have is would it be easyier to remove the trans with or with out the bellhousing. Any suggestions or tips on the whole process cause this is my first manual trans ive removed. i allready have the driveshaft and clutch actuator disconnected. I figure that if im gonna do this i wanna do it right by asking so i dont have to fight it. Thanks Mike

I have learned this from Kristen's Trans. The bellhousing must be removed in order to get to the clutch disk and pressure plate. The actuator stands in the way if you just remove the 4 main bolts holding the trans housing on (even though it's hoses are disconnected), so the bellhousing must be unbolted first before pulling the trans out.

Im having trouble getting to the top bolts on the bellhousing, for the people that have removed a 5 speed out of a 3.4 do you think i would have easyier time pulling the trans then the bellhousing or the all at once, also any tips on trying those bolts i have used extentions and universals but no luck. The two i cant get out they are the center top one and the left top one. Thanks Guys.

Either a really long 1/2 extension and some swival sockets.

The first time I pulled my tranny I needed 3 11 inch 1/2 inch extensions. And it was still tough to break those bolts free.

The lasted time around I borrowed some swival sockets. And the bolts weren't as tight.

3ft 1/2" extension with wabbly on the end with the socket and a high torque impact gun removes the top bolts quiet easily. I just did my clutch 3 months ago.
