    what would be a good gear ratio to put in my 1992 camaro rs 3.1L?

        im going to be puting an 8 pound boost,cam,heads and my friend said that i should put new gears in as well.

            I think boosted motors like taller gears. I'd wouldn't get higher than 3.42s

              he was aying that i should get 4.12's or something like that. and another question do you think that my stock gears 3.73's would work?

                3:73's are not stock. 3:42 was the highest ratio # installed factory.

                  Chances are he does have 3.42s though...

                  Your gear choice depends a lot upon the rest of your setup. Are you building this as a drag racer? A fun street car?

                  There are many other decisions to make before gears....

                    i would just like this one to be a fun street car. my friends and i are building a 68 camaro as our drag car. but i do think that my car has 3.73s cause thats what the guy said when i bought the car. are there any ways that i can check?

                      Stick with those then...If you want it to be fun...4.10's will have you shifting before you are even through the light. [img]smile.gif[/img]
