• Guys with 3.42 gears STOCK

Why do you all have higher stall converters? I thought the converter would be the exact same. Is it because of the gears? Do they let the converter stall higher. This probably sounds like a stupid question, but it seems reasonable to me that would be why.

well the highest I'll launch is around 1700 but I can rev it up to about 2200 before the back wheels start spinning. It's probably the same stall but just with 3.08s the motor doesn't have enough power to overcome the tall first gear to spin the tires. Just a thought...I tried spinning in my friend's 98 w/3.08s and I couldn't get it to spin.

is thathow you tell where your conrter stalls....by seeing when your rear tires spin when powerbraking?

Wow, 3.08's must really suck because with 3.23 I can sit and burn all day.

I thought all of the newer cars had a higher stall converter, but Camarorulz says his stalls at only 1800 with the 3.08 gears.

Does anybody know if the Y87 cars have a different converter than the non-Y87 cars?
