right now . i have the y87 package with the factory 3.42. i also have a yank 3000 converter. like my gears. but i'm trying to obtain higher traps. i also do alot of highway driving and i don't like getting walked by cars while racing cause the topend is not there.

I wouldn't change them 3.42s is the mid point... I had more power top end with my stock 3.23s.... bvut over al my 1.4 was a tenth faster....
Bor the money to downgrade to 3.23s... you could make up the difference adding mods to give you more power, without hurting your 1.4 mile times... -

with my stock 3.23s I think I hit 88 mph a couple times if I remember correctly. Then I trapped 86ish with 3.42s and lt1 driveshaft.
so abotu a 2 mph loss so if you go down I guess a 2 mph gain? not much I think the moeny and energy of downgrading will cost more money in the end then its worth. HP mods would be better. In my opinion of course... I think 12secondv6 decded 3.23s were best for his setup but he is trappig well over 100 mph.Comment
