  • Clutch Slipping? Odd noises...

Well the last few days my clutch has been feeling crappy. on fairly low RPM launches(2000-3000) it just slips and then once the clutch hooks up it pulls strong. With every shift up to the 3-4 it slips and dosent hook strong. If it is fully enguaged and I flood it...balls to the wall no slipping or anything. Just on launches or high RPM shifts. I miss the big squak of the rear wheels on my 1-2 shift! any ideas?

    The noise:
After letting the car warm up and driving for a bit I will come to a stop throw the car in neutral and let the clutch out. And then I hear a rattling noise, and if I push the clutch in it almost entirly goes away. let it out... it comes back instantly. somtimes its loud somtimes quiet. Any ideas on what this might be? I did a search and came up with throwout bearing? could that be the problem?? any help would be great guys thanks!

Could bleeding really help this issue?, my clutch fluid was BLACK and looked almost slightly gritty. I was unsure on how to bleed the clutch entirly so I used a turkey baster and removed this foul fluid from the reservoir at the top and filled it back up with new motul 440. It dident really do anything, but was by no means a bleeding of the clutch.

It sounds like your clutch is going, that sound you hear when the car is in neutral with the clutch engaged is the throw out bearing. Honestly it sounds like it's time to change you clutch and throwout bearing. If you are doing alot of hard launches and barking the tires on your 1-2 shift then you have proably killed it.

Definately is the throw out bearing. My car was doing something similar not too long ago.
The car would make a raspy paper-to-paper chatter when I would try to let the clutch out. Then a couple hours later it went away, then I was trying to race a Lt1 Vette(trying) and it totally went out...not going into any gear. I looked pretty stupid, but the car was stranded. Any time I put it into gear and tried to move the clutch it would chatter and clunk. F'ing tow truck picked it up 2 minutes after I left it. I was pissed, 240 bucks to get it out of the impound and back to my house to fix it.
