i wish i knew about it then, that master cylinder was so hard to get in. do you think its worth it for me to do. car isnt going to be raced.

I’ve got my stock clutch replaced on DF, and I’m not impressed. I took everything apart and found that slave cylinder was leaking fluid. (I should have replace it with clutch - its cheap compare to work you should do to replace it later :( ) Still after bleeding I can’t do quick shifts and feeling like my new clutch not gonna have a long life if Im gonna continue to do that. Master cylinder was last on the list.
Im gonna do that mod in next few days. Just want to make couple things clear:
Resistor does exist in the v6 models because the hydraulic system is the same as v8.
Resistor is in the braided-steel line not in the master cylinder itself.
Master cylinder should be one of the FIRST things to replace. Check the fluid, and if it is getting "dirty" it is the master going bad - I know, I replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing when I should have replaced the master.
Slave already replaced, fluid clean as glass. (ran 2 bottles thru)
What is the difference between 98 and 2001+ ?
I have got it replaced and don’t know which one I’ve got .
On the picture from that link it looks exactly like mine.
Done.
I couldn’t get the system beaded(I thought) but its actually the clutch pedal is lighter than before. Also it grabs little bit faster. Resistor is like needle size(The system was running like you have 3’ cat back all the way thru and 1’ cat inverter in the middle ); I drilled first with smaller bit and finished it with 3/8.
Special thanks to Steve Cole, Good job! Over all that was not hard to do at all , you would need friend help you to put the U-bolt back on and bleed the system.
so it wasnt hard? i know that stupid U-bolt was horrible, you cant get at it good and its just plain hard to get through those holes. think its worth it? easy to do. im 14, and im very impatient. is it easy to mess up? my dad said he'd help but i dont wonna mess it up.
thanks.
