  • What Happened Here????

I was driving my camaro all day saturday, and didn't hear anything! I parked it in my garage aroung 2pm, and I got back in around 5pm to go to a party. As I was making a left turn, I accelerated around the turn, I heard a bigtime rubbing sound coming from the rear passenger tire. Do you think the springs are going weak, or maybe the rear LCA's need to be re-tightened?
It never did this before, tonight was the first time this started happening.
Also, as I was driving, I would hit bumps and I would hear the rubbing sound.

Thank You for any possible help,
    Marc

That happens to me before.. But it was just some snow/ice stuck in the wheel well. Make sure the tires aren't rubbing on anything.

I just checked the wheelwell, and there isn't anything in there. Maybe I have a broken shock absorber.
I also have an extra set of rear Z28 Springs in my garage. I'll put the Springs on and replace the Shock Absorber either today or tomorrow.
I'll be updating the results soon.

        Found the problem!
Do you know the plate that the rear driver's side coil spring rests on? Well, on that plate there is a bushing and a bolt (it's just behind the coil spring). The steel housing all around the bushing ripped out. Yes, Steel torn like paper. The one side of the rear bar was almost dragging on the ground because there wasn't anything to support it.
I would take a picture, but I don't know how to post it here as a link.
I'm borrowing a welder tonight, and I have some extra 1/8" steel pieces that I can weld into place to act as a support. That is the best I can do for now, hopefully it'll hold.
