question about 3.73 and lsd

right now i have motive 3.73 gears and slp lsd on order. I was wondering what else i will need for the swap? I am having them installed by a transmission shop. I know i need something to correct the shift points and the speedometer. I was thinking about the hypertech III programer, but i have a 99 v6 camaro and it says its for the 2000+ models. i would appreciate it if you guys could help me out!


things i want to know:
1. what else i will need beside gears and lsd.

2.what is the best thing to get to correct shift points and speedo? something to fit my year.

same problem here, but i have the 3.42 and lsd. i've read that i can go to a dealer and get the pcm reprogramed, but for you with 3.73 i have no idea. according with most of the guys here you would need to get a 2000 pcm or a 2000 vin# and hpp3, do a little trick with the size of your tires and you're ready to go at least with your speedometer because the shift point would be messed up. you can have your pcm custom reprogramed too but that's expensive. i've to wait 'til next month cause now i'm brooookkeeee [img]smile.gif[/img]

with 3.42s you can just swap in a y87 pcm too.

I'm wondering what the transmission shop will do if they install the gears for me. They said that they could do it, but when I was there I blanked out and didn't think about the speedo and shift points.
