  • Grinding in reverse

    This doesnt happen all the time but most the time I put my car in reverse it grinds and I have no idea whats going on...any ideas?

    mine does this too sometimes... dont know why

      Means its working...

      very common problem... get in the habit of putting it in 5th, then reverse, ro 1st then reverse. And it won't do it.


      I believe reverse is a non-synchornized gear in our cars.

        You hit that one right on the money!!
        Every Borg/Warner/Tremec 5 Speed in the camaro does this. You have to put it in an alternate gear in order to keep it from grinding. I am not going to get technical, I am just going to say that yes indeed, your transmission is actually doing perfect. It is when you start grinding in other gears that you have to start worrying.
