I have a brand new 2002 RS that is blue with silver stripes. I love it, its a 5 speed, monsoon system, t-tops, etc. Well I noticed something when I was driving it though. When I stop at a light, I'm holding down the clutch in 1st waiting for the light to turn green...well i noticed like a ticking or rattling, not sure which it is, its not too loud but its there. Is it normal since the car is breaking in. Only has about 100 miles on it now. Anyone have any ideas?

Its normal, mine makes the same noise - 2002. Don't fear it will quiet over time, I am not sure why they make that noise though
How does reverse sound? Mine is kinda wurr/wurr/wurr/wurr sounding instead of being one long whiiiinee... Is that normal for you too?2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

It makes the normal noise that I've heard on any other manual. The only thing I havent heard is that ticking sound when I'm just sitting there, I guess its just breaking in.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

The ticking is the the through out bearing on the clutch. It will also make a squealing noise sometimes.2002 M5 Bright Metallic Silver
*Fully loaded and modded

2005 GSXR 750
*Micron Serpent Race Exhaust *K&N Filter *Power Commander *Trying to hit 200 MPH!

1970 SS 454 Chevelle Cortez Silver
*It can pass anything but a gas station

Don't worry about it. It IS normal operation. Mine does the same thing, and I did bring it into the dealer (I know them well, and trust them too). They did tell me that it is normal operation. Mine whines pretty good also in reverse. I always thought that was normal. I however to have trouble getting into reverse sometimes (gears grind).2002 Camaro V6, M5, Black, T-tops, Y87, Monsoon, and Leather!
**Current Mods** : Wisper Lid, Hurst Billet Shifter, Free CAI.
