• B&M Ripper Install Question

Ive read the guide off installuniversity twice now and understand all of it - thats not my issue :D

The B&M Ripper is an angled shifter, I haven't attempted to install it but I was curious how it needed to be oriented when I install it. There is writing on the top, a nice embossed B&M Logo, should that be facing the front or the rear of the car?

Also, with mine I got a small plastic ring that slides up and down the shifter - what is this?

Thanks for the help, hopefully I can install it tomorrow - just need to buy some red RTV sealant

Thanks everyone for the help, and thanks OynxV6 for the awesome shifter! :D I feel like I just had a birthday.

[EDIT: The reason Im asking this is because I didn't get the OEM manual to install this shifter and cant find a copy online. However Im sure I can figure it out without help, just its gonna take longer :D ]

I'm thinking the that it needs to be angled/bent towards you (i have a Pro 5.0 and it is), as for the ring, i have no clue...

I don't remember where the logo was, but I do remember that when you look at the shifter (with the plate horizontal) it will look like the stick points away from you. But, the housing on the tranny is angled toward you, so it all works out.

      Great shifter, by the way.

You'll see how it orients when you take off the old one. It's self explanatory.

The ring has something to do with the shifter boot, I can't remember though. I beleive you just leave it be.

Ahh I see, yeah hell if the tranny angles towards me that fixes my whole problem :D

Ok the B&M goes @ the top. The plastic ring goes around the top of the base of the shifter. It keeps dirt and grime from getting down inside the shifter.

Good - just what I assumed. I was hoping I wasnt going to need to attach that ring to anything special
