  • Torque Converter $ SCU2000

Anyone know how I can make this work together? The scu2000 was working perfect until I got my 3200 stall put in. Now, I can't shift out of 2nd unless I unplug the scu2000.

What converter did you get? Is it actually flashing at 3200? So no 2-3 shift? And no 2-1 shift? Forget the SCU, it's junk. It's good for nothing. Speedo will be fine, but the most important thing the rpm will still be off.

I got the vigilante 3200 #6 pump. I Don't even know what's up w/ it though because when its suppose to lock-up it does but there's a grinding noise. I already sent it back to them twice and they said there was nothing wrong w/ it. What exactly happens when a converter tries to lock up?

The vigilantee 3600 pump #7 I test drove was completely silent when it locked up. There is no slippage when it locks up. So your stock converter was fine, then you put this one and it grinds? What mph does it grind at? Forget the SCU for a second and try to get things right without it. What exactly happens without the SCU?

I am not using the scu2000 right now. And it does that. I'm just like around 50-60 mph...then when it settles around 1800-2000 rpms it grinds.

When you told PI about this, what did they say?

PI just said they couldnt find anything wrong with it. THen, they started blaming my tranny said there was something wrong with it. But I was saying how everything was fine w/ my stock converter.

I would demand a refund and buy a Yank.

Really?? How long did it take for it to break in? How often did it grind? Does it sound really bad when it does grind?

Does that sound like your problem? Sometimes the converter can be "fine" but have design flaws. I would just return it.
