well, i really don't know the answer to this but hypothetically speaking, if you had an awesome manual driver with say a 00 camaro and he was racing another 00 camaro that was an automatic, how bad would the m5 win in the quarter. really, all i want to know is, what is the biggest possible advantage the 3.23 gears can have over the 3.08. and also, the biggest diff. 3.42s can have over 3.23s. and i've heard that 3.73s at the most will make a .2 sec difference than 3.42s would in the quarter mile...but how much diff between 3.73s and 4.1s? let's just take into account that the ONLY mod done to these cars is the rear end, no intake, muffler sys. or anything.
