Ok this is on a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Its not turbo. It has a auto trans and its acting up. The speedo stopped working at the same time, SES light came on. The speedo will work once I hit 5,000 RPM and then turn off when I go below 5,000. It seems as if it is in 2nd gear all the time. It hesitates when taking off from a start and the RPM's go really low and almost die at idle. So Im pretty sure its stuck in second gear and wont shift. Any ideas?

The only time that I have ever had this problem was when the harness to the VSS on the tail end of the transmission was unhooked. You might want to check that. Or see if some wiring in the harness is frayed or something. I think I found the problem. Its a Mitsubishi.
Chevrolet is the only way!
